“This residency’s body of work has been another joyful step of my exploration with clay colored for the purpose of experimental sculpting and hand building. A focus for the work has been my consideration about humanity and our present-day world; the ways we stand and move; and how an understanding of direction and positions helps us to know where we are. This work also considers my own personal touchstones and my experiences with landmarks encountered while traveling. Referencing landscape, I have been exploring multiple meanings of bearings using the figurative form and land form.”
