Ceramic Shape and Surface workshop with instructor Joan Bruneau had students working at a gale force pace creating beautiful ceramic vessels inspired by the Town of Lunenburg.

“This first course was a huge success judging by all the positive comments and feedback from the students and by the incredible work that was created during the week,” says Senator Wilfred Moore, volunteer Chair of the Board. “The workshop took place in the East Bay Studio. It’s so good to have our spaces being lived in and inspiring art.”

“I loved my time at Lunenburg School of the Arts.  I left inspired.  The information and guidance I received will be invaluable to me in both my personal practice and as a teacher”. Toni Losey, Professional Ceramicist.

“Joan Bruneau’s Ceramic Shape & Surface workshop was an amazing professional development opportunity for me. I was welcomed into a highly skilled and informative learning environment, where I was able to participate, learn and practice techniques that would have taken me years to learn on my own.” David Baldwin, High School Teacher.

LSA Programs Director Douglas Bamford, worked with other volunteers to transform the East Bay Studio into a bright, well equipped and efficient ceramics studio that was a joy to work in.

“I was really impressed by the studio space at LSA and the brand new equipment. Students were given extended access to the studio and the assistants made sure everybody had what they needed…outstanding. Despite the range of student skill level everybody’s work exceeded my expectations. I had a blast.” Joan Bruneau, Ceramics Instructor.

Our next ceramics course is “Tile Academy: Handmade Ceramic Tile”, with instructor Douglas Bamford, August 17 – 21.

We will also be offering “Colour, Layer, Pattern: Ceramics” with instructor Adero Willard of Holyoke Community College, Massachusetts, August 24 – 28.
