Lunenburg School of the Arts did double-duty in week 6 of programming with a printmaking course in the East Bay Studio on the street level, and a jewellery making course in the second level Garage Studio. “The high quality of instructors and student enthusiasm, resulted in incredible art coming out of both classes”, said LSA’s Programs Director, Douglas Bamford. “With the demand growing, LSA will continue to program concurrent multiple classes in future scheduling”, added Bamford.

“Lunenburg School of the Arts offers exciting opportunities to celebrate and support the visual arts in Nova Scotia. Lunenburg is a town that is so conducive to art making, and the LSA seaside studio is a great place to reflect, learn and create. Beautiful facilities and intimate class sizes make this school a treasure!” Charley Young, Artist and LSA Instructor

“I thoroughly enjoyed my week at the Lunenburg School for the Arts. Charley Young was an excellent instructor – teaching us the basics of printmaking, inspiring us with her own work and passion for site specific printmaking, while mentoring and fostering each student’s own creative vision. Please keep me on your email list for next summer’s courses.” Karen Friskney, Bridgewater, N.S.

“The Lunenburg School of the Arts” is housed in a beautiful heritage building, worthy of all the shipbuilders in town. I had a delightful week working with an engaged group of students who all applied their new experience working with jewellery and plastics in personal ways. The sunny spaces lend themselves to jewellery making, together with silk-screening, drawing and ceramic tile making.” Rebecca Hannon, Jewellery Maker and LSA Instructor

“I learned a lot about the material and the techniques, and, what is even more important, became inspired to make more jewellery – either with plastics or other materials. The atmosphere in the school was warm and welcoming, and it´s a good place to work. I will certainly join other courses, maybe already in January.” Jutta Juraschek, Germany
