Marla Benton
Monday to Friday, July 20 – July 24, 2026
10:00am – 4:00pm
This workshop is all about experimenting, exploring, and getting your hands happily messy. We’ll slow things down and focus on detailed making, creating, and glazing, taking time to enjoy the process. Whether the details show up in a gesture, a form, or a juicy surface texture, we’ll dive into lots of creative possibilities together.
Hand-building techniques and surface design will be the focus of demonstrations and group discussion. We’ll start with a series of smaller pieces to warm up and spark ideas, which will lead to a more personal creative project of your own. No experience necessary, just curiosity and a willingness to try.
Finished work will be ready for pickup early in the week following the course.
Students should bring:
- Apron (aprons can always be purchased at the LSA)
- Water bottle
- Note book
- Pen/pencil
- Old towel
- Label any personal tools you might bring to use
- Snacks/lunch (time can be taken to go and grab lunch)
