Ages 12+ can join our School for a fun introduction to working with stoneware clay. This eight-week workshop is for all levels and we encourage participants to register alongside family, friends, or to come on your own ready to meet new people. No experience necessary.

Early classes will introduce students to basic hand-building techniques through demonstrations and small fun projects. The final classes will encourage students to use their new skills and imagination in creating their own functional or sculptural designs.

Bring your creativity and apron!

This workshop is seven (three hour) working sessions, plus a one-hour pick up day.

Students should bring:

  • Apron
  • Hand towel

Gillian Maradyn-Jowsey

Gillian Maradyn-Jowsey is a ceramic artist living in Lunenburg, NS. She graduated from NSCAD University in 2017 with a BFA in ceramics, and has participated in a number of craft residencies including the NSCAD Lunenburg Community Residency, and Craft Lair at the Center for Craft in Halifax.

She has taught a number of ceramics classes at the Lunenburg School of the Arts, as well as working as a teacher’s assistant alongside Walter Ostrom and Douglas Bamford.
