Teresa Bergen
Monday to Friday, August 18 – August 22, 2025
10:00am – 4:00pm
This is a figurative sculpture course that is all about play. With a focus on honing hand building skills, we will make our own individual pieces and work separately on various body parts which can then be assembled to create a larger collaborative figure. Join us as we play with facial expressions, learn to build hands with a message, and discover what wonders await when we put our heads and clay together!
Students should bring:
- Aprons
- Any additional clay tools you might want. (We have lots!)

Teresa Bergen
Teresa Bergen Teresa Bergen is a maker of ceramic sculpture, clay machines, and sometimes puppeteer based out of Chester, NS. Her formal art studies began at Langara College in Vancouver and completed with a BFA at NSCAD University, Halifax. After cycling and hiking to Dawson City Yukon for a Residency at Klondike Institute of Art and Culture she built a kiln and started a ceramics business on a rock pile outside of town. The adventure continues across the country in her lively home studio where she maintains a full time ceramic practice and teaches workshops surrounded by her three children, a banjo picking husband and a fluctuating flock of chickens.
